Erin J. Reifler is a New York City based musical theatre writer, music director, and trombonist. Originally from Evanston, IL, Erin received a B.A. with honors in Music Theory, History, and Composition from Brown University. She received her M.F.A from NYU Tisch School of the Arts from the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program (Cycle 28).
A versatile musician, Erin regularly performs in classical, jazz, and musical theater settings. She has performed on trombone in the pit orchestras for over 30 productions, including two summers with the College Light Opera Company.
Erin began a life in musical theater on trombone but gradually moved towards music directing and writing. Her recent writing credits include: LIGHT ON THE WATER (NYU Tisch, NYMF Feature), BACK O’TOWN (Midtown International Theatre Festival, Nom. Best Music & Best Lyrics) THE TROMBONE LESSON (Manhattan Rep. Winner 10-Minute Play Competition).
