About Erin |
Erin J. Reifler is a New York City based musical theatre writer, music director, and trombonist. Originally from Evanston, IL, Erin received a B.A. with honors in Music Theory, History, and Composition from Brown University. She received her M.F.A from NYU Tisch School of the Arts from the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.
Erin began a life in musical theater on trombone but gradually moved towards music directing and writing. Her recent writing credits include: SHOWCASE: A REHEARSAL MUSICAL with collaborator Kevin Renn, THE UNTITLED JOSIE PROJECT with Zonia Tsang, and an original song cycle with Grace Parker. Her work has been featured at the Goodspeed, NYMF, Green Room 42, Feinstein's 54 Below, and Two Rivers Theater. Erin and Zonia were selected as Merit Award Winners by New Musicals Inc. & Disney Imagineering for the New Voices Project 2021 as well as Finalists for the 2023 Civilians R&D Group. Her short musical, THE TROMBONE LESSON was the Winner of Manhattan Repertory's 10-Minute Play Competition. Erin was formerly the Music Supervisor of the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center. She has worked with artists such as Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally, Lea Salonga, Edie Falco, Peter Dinklage, and The Bengsons. Most recently she was on the music teams of THE GREAT GATSBY (Broadway Theatre), SHUCKED (Nederlander), PARADISE SQUARE (Barrymore Theatre, Nederlander Theater in Chicago) and WEST SIDE STORY (Broadway Theatre). Off-Broadway she worked on WHERE THE MOUNTAIN MEETS THE SEA (NY City Center), CYRANO (Daryl Roth), ORATORIO FOR LIVING THINGS (Ars Nova). Proud member of AFM, ASCAP, and Dramatists Guild. |
