About Erin |
Erin J. Reifler is a New York City based lyricist, composer, music director, and trombonist. Originally from Evanston, IL, Erin received a bachelor of arts in Music Theory, History, and Composition from Brown University. She received her M.F.A from NYU Tisch School of the Arts at Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program (Cycle 28). A versatile musician, Erin regularly performs in classical, jazz, and musical theater settings. She has performed on trombone in the pit orchestras for over 30 productions spanning from Chicago, Providence, and New York City, including two summers with the College Light Opera Company in Falmouth, MA. Erin began a life in musical theater on trombone but gradually moved towards music directing and writing. Now, her musicals are being produced in multiple venues. Her one-act musical Goldilocks made its New York City debut at the Thespis Theater Festival in the summer of 2016 and her 10-minute musical The Trombone Lesson was voted the Winner of Manhattan Repertory Theatre's 10-Minute Play Contest.
