SYNOPSIS Back O'Town centers on a family of three Black women, a grandmother, a mother, and a daughter, and their community in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in New Orleans. Featuring musical styles ranging from New Orleans styles jazz to hip-hop and musical theatre, the story explores themes of Southern Blackness, incarceration, and community healing.
